M.Ed. in Counseling – Couple, Marriage, and Family Counseling Track
Within the University of Montevallo’s CACREP-accredited Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Counseling degree program, there is a Couple, Marriage, and Family Counseling track offered for graduate students who want to specifically provide guidance to clients working towards finding relational stability. Students who choose this track will build on the major core by taking specialized courses focused on drawing from research-based knowledge and best practices in counseling techniques to provide assistance to couples, marriages, or family units in times of tension and crisis. In addition to fulfilling the academic requirements for taking the exam that leads to licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC), the track qualifies graduates for becoming Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) in Alabama with 60 credits.
